Hadley Cemetery/Livingston co. IL.
I am looking for descendants of those buried at Hadley Cemetery. The Cemetery is located in Sunbury Township, Livingston Co.,IL, section 33. It was founded in 1869 on land once owned by James Patton HADLEY, the man whom cemetery was named.
Buried at Hadley Cemetery is James and his first wife Rumina and daughter Amanda who was the second wife of Christopher W. STERRY, who would be a prominant member of Livngston Co in later years.
Those of note buried at Hadley are: Andrew Jackson CORBIN, very early settler of Sunbury Twp; Philip K. HILTON, who helped in the building of the Illinois and Michigan Canal; Thornton KNIGHT, vetern of the War of 1812 and Andrew Sprague, the first settler of Sunbury Twp.
