Hmmm... not quite in Derbyshire or Leicestershire, but I have Roes in Lincolnshire and my family tree displays evidence of some mobility around the East Midlands counties. The family that I am currently investigating has a David Roe, christened in Scampton in 1814, to William and Elizabeth - David is my ggg-gfather. It also appears that he had an elder sister, Elizabeth, who was christened in 1810 in Brattleby (a couple of miles up the road) and a number of younger siblings all christened in Scampton: Sarah 1816, William 1818, Ann 1820, Charlotte 1822, Eliza 1824, Thomas 1826 and another Sarah of 1828.
Any connection?
All the best
Andy
