I've often wondered this myself, but never got around to diggin up the info :)

I poked around a bit and discovered that he joined the militia in LA abt 1760. His first child with Marie Josephe Dervain was born in 1764, and I have seen their wedding date given from 1759-1763. I will keep digging and see if I can't come up with some solid documentation for you.

Mind if I ask for your pedigree so I can add you to the tree? :)
