Hello, Maria.

I believe that your lineage might be of a different origin than any of the Canadian lineages. Your ancestor's name, Abin Rodrigues Alvares, doesn't match. However, I found, while doing a search in the Mormon database (, that a certain Rika Rodrigues Alvares married in 1771 in Bordeaux, France, with a Jacob Pissarro; maybe she is a relative of Abin Rodrigues Alvares, since Bordeaux (department of Gironde) is not that far from Poitiers and the department of Vienne, and that there shouldn't have been many Rodrigues Alvares in France at that time.
