Dear Max,
Just read your posting ragarding the Buck Island Massacre - I have an article that appeared in Harper's Weekly right around the turn of the century. I believe it was written by one of the two survivors of that incident. It was an absolutely incredible account of what happened. Would love to share a copy of the article with you. I might take me a week or so to find it - not very organized I'm embarrassed to say! I live in Huntsville, AL not too many miles from where it all happened near Guntersville. My Roden ancestor from that area is John M. Roden. Have had no luck finding any info on his parents.
Let me know if you would like a copy and email me your address.
