John Rodda was living with Edward and Sarah (Symons) and their children in Alder Gulch/Virginia City, MT in 1870. I'm not sure when they headed for Nevada, but it was probably 1877 or later as Edward and Sarah's last child was born in 1877 at Virginia City, Madison Co., Montana. By 1880, both John and Edward were living in Lead City, Lawrence County, Dakota Terr. (now South Dakota) and Sarah and the children (all 8) were living in Hazel Green. That seems to be the dead-end for me. I have found an Eddie Rodda living and boxing in Butte, Montana in 1902 but have yet to identify him.

I am related to the Roddas through Sarah Symons, a sister to my great-grandmother, Catherine Symons Ingram. She died at Benton/Hazel Green, WI and is buried at the Provident Cemetery. I am also related to Phillippa Jennings Rodda as her sister, Elizabeth Jennings, married Richard Ingram, my gggrandparents.

If you would share the photo of Edward and John, I would gladly pay copy and postage charges or email a copy. I would really appreciate it.

Also, if you have any information to add to the Rodda family, I would be very interested in sharing and comparing.

Jean
