Mother Rodd's husband was Andrew Rodd. An account of his death written in 1890 for the Michigan Pioneer Historical Society can be found at this link: http://bit.ly/y2mYdk
D.B. Harrington, a prominent early settler of Port Huron, lived with the Saginaw Chippewa as a young man and spoke the language fluently. He painted a portrait of Mother Rodd that hung in the Michigan state library in Lansing for many years (and may still be there today for all I know).
