Hello Sue; I am excited to have you on board, expecially from the other side of the pond, as have been researching the same John as Patrick for several years and have more info to give you.

Captain John Rodd b. 1767 in Devonshire?? Married Elizabeth Shaw on 30 Mov 1801 at St. Georges Church, Hanover Square, London. They emigrated to PEI Canada with sons Thomas b. 1804 and Charles b. 1806. The "Captain" in unknown however he was very active in the PEI Militia. (I had a military researcher in London do some work last year however did not come up with any military info) May be he was a sea captain? maybe the researcher was a foney? maybe no info? - Elizabeth Shaw was born around 1776 but no further info.

We are at a roadblock with this couple and would really appreciate any help or direction you could give us. There has to be information over there or research basis we could query.

We could be long lost relatives and this is exciting so looking foreward to your response.
