staples, john, cont. line (md) wf margaret, soldier was born 18 may 1754 in islington in great britain and he landed in annapolis, md about june 1775 and he married margaret (?) 2 may 1779 in somerset co., n.j.. and she was born 20 july 1760. soldier died 2 feb 1843 in monroe co., pa. and his widow applied there in 1843. widow died 17 augt 188. children were; rachel, 1779, john, 1780, mary, rebecca, william b., jacob, frances, luke, elizabeth, george mc., james, richard, horatio n. the son of luke staples was in monroe co., pa. in 1843
rockwell, jabez, wf betsey b. ct. line, soldier was born 8 oct 1762 in fairfield, ct. and he lived there at enlistment. soldier married 1st to sarah rundle on 7 june 1784, died 23 feb 1799 and he married 2nd to elizabeth (betsey) mulford. soldier died 18 jan 1847 at leonardsville, pa. and his widow applied 1851 at honesdale, in wayne co., pa. soldier and 1st wife's children were; lewis, 1785, abraham, 1787, polly, 1789, and she married james watson, diantha married cyrus stearns, reuben, 1794, hiram 13 may 1796 and he died 2 oct 1796, and ann or anna married nathan wells. soldier's 2nd wife's children were; john b., 1800, and died 2 aug 1839, sally, phebe and she married william l. gainford, eliza married joseph moore, catharine, lucinda jane married harrison valentine and thadius or thaddeus s. born 1819

staples, charles, comes of honorable pioneer ancestory, being great grand soj in the maternal line of jacob weiss (rev.war), while on the paternal side of john staples, one of the first settlers of northampton co., pa. he was born in 1754 at islington, england and came to america in 1775. he died feb 2, 1843 in monroe co., pa, smithfield twp.. on may 2 1779 he married at new germantown, somerset co., n.j. to margaret teeple, who was born july 10, 1760 and was reported in a letter to have died aug 17, 1848. children; rachel, john, mary, rebecca, william, jacob, francis, luke, elisabeth, george mc., james, richard, and horatio n. upon the tombstone of the old hero we fine; in memory of john staples, may 8, 1754 and died feb. 2, 1843, married to margaret teeple, 1779. he had 14 children, one hundred and 33 grandchildren, one hundred and fifty nine great-grandchildren.

jacob rockwell (1761-1847) enlisted at 16, srv until the surrender at yorktown. he was wounded at saratoga and monmpouth and in 1832 he was placed on pension. he was born in ridgefield, ct., and died near honesdale, pa.
john staples (1754-1843) came to america in 1775, and enlisted in 1777. he was born in england and was pensioned in northampton co., pa.
