As a follow up to the messages on Isaac Rockwell/Phebe Hempstead, I am submitting information on Atherton Rockwell, one of their sons and his family. I have more details on his brother Joseph and his family which I can submit if there is an interest.
The information submitted by Shirley Johnson on this family was a great help in making a number of connections.
Son of Isaac Rockwell, born 6 January 1766 (died 26 May 1819) and Phebe Hempstead (born, 9 May 1769 - )
Atherton Rockwell (1797 1862)
Born 26 June1797, most likely in New York State. He died 2 February 1862 and is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery, Forest ville, New York. His wife is buried next to him. His brother Joseph, born in 1805, appears to have been born in South East, Putnam County, New York and also settled in Forestville and raised a large family there.
Marriage. Atherton married Mary Codding (b. 10 March 1801 d. 13 December 1801, Bristol, Ontario Co.) 13 August 1821. They resided in Brant, Erie Co., for a short time and in the fall of 1822 moved to Forestville, New York, town of Hanover, Chautauqua County, area settling on Rounte 39. She died at the home of her son, Daniel, 13 November 1891. They are both buried in the Pioneer Cemetery of Forestvill, NY. Her Parents : Her father, Luscomb Codding was born 1763 in Dighton, MA. Her mother Polly Pratt was born about 1765, Rehoboth, MA.

The children of Atherton and Mary were all born in the Forestville area, most likely at their home on Route 39, town of Hanover, N.Y.
Isaac Rockwell (b. 16 Feb 1824, d. 13 April 1888). Married Calista White (b. 27 August 1826, Chenango, New York, d. 13 July 1881.
William R. Rockwell, b. 1832, d. ?
Daniel Horton Rockwell (b 17 September 1833. d. Feb. 1920). Married Harriet Burton, born at Cazenovia, N. Y., (10 April 1834, died 11 March 1908), on 20 January 1856.
Their children were :
William Henry Rockwell (17 March 1858 21 March 1937). Married Ophelia Hanna Van Dyke.
Charlest Atherton Rockwell (17 Jan. 1860 after 1894). Married Lucinda Hutchinson.
Mary Theodosha Rockwell (15 Aug 1861 Jan. 1948). Married Loren W. Geer. No Children
Harriet E. Rockwell (26 March 1869 27 Nov. 1941) She married Geogre Smith (b. 19 July 1867- town of Sheridan, N. Y d. 98 Jan. 1954) married 7 July 1903, Forestville, NY. Their children were Daniel Burton Smith (b. 20 Feb., 1907- (d. 27 July 1966, Town of Hanover, NY.). Paul Leverett Smith (b. 27 May 1908, d. 13 Feb 1998 , Town of Hanover, NY).
