9th August 2000 Hi Bryan Tinlin, l hope l am not intruding, found your name and request on the Internet regarding the surname of Rochford, thought l would drop you a line asking for your help regarding my research into the uncommon surname of Rochford. My aim is to generate one enormous database to help any fellow Rochford or their connection find their own link in the family tree, with no hassle, frustration and indeed cost that genealogy can create. l have to date collected some 20,000 Rochford entries, some dating far back to the year 1020 which l hope you and others will put me to the test in finding your ancestors. Although my main data base is that of England and Wales, small percent of Irish along with an array of other descents. There is so much more research work yet to do, hence my attempts on the Internet to ease my financial cost in trying to find free data. In other words l would like to know more about you and your side of the Rochford family, l will add at this stage that my database is not for public viewing or for sale, its sole purpose is to help future fellow Rochford's find their own lost roots, and help myself with this enormous jigsaw puzzle. If you are unable to help me in any way perhaps you would be kind enough to pass this information onto another member of the family or indeed another Rochford. l look forward in hearing from you, where upon my reply will be on a much more personal scale’. Best Wishes Patrick E. Rochford e-mail address pat@rochfordp.fsnet.co.uk
