One has to be careful in tracking George. There are several George W Rochesters in the SC, GA AL area at the same time. Below is a possiblity of George as I see it.

G.W. (male)              11       1860       GA       Clayton       J.F                     SC
George                     19       1870       GA       Fayette              Jordon Lord              GA
George        28       1880       AL       Cherokee       head                     SC
George W (head)       69       1920       AL       Jackson        head                     GA

The father of this George is J.F from SC. This J. F is james F, son of Nicholas in Pickens Co SC in 1850. At this point there is a loose end, but I think he is the son of William. If so, he can be tracked back to England in Anne Sheriff's book ROCHESTER FAMILY HISTORY. William and Nathaniel of Rochester NY have common ancestors. I also am working on a book which has mostly census data called ROCHESTERS AND THEIR DESCENDENTS FROM THE CAROLINAS, 1790 - 1930. If you are interested in either of these two books, send me an e-mail and I will get you more information.
