I can send you a gedcom of this side of the family. William settled in Lawrence Co TN from Wake Co NC in the 1830s. His brother Wiley Rochelle settled there in the 1820s and their brother Henderson B. came in the late 1840's and brought their mother, Mary Ray with him. William and Obedience Keath had several children including Rufus. Rufus married Mary Osborne, and Rufus served in the Union army during the Civil war. Most of the Lawrence County Rochelles and Rochells come from William. Henderson's son Wiley George Washington Rochelle married Mary Osborne's sister Sarah Osborne. Wiley, his brother Marcellus, and their father Henderson were Confederate soldiers. After the war, Henderson and Wiley and sundry descendants moved to Swan Creek in Hickman County, while Marcellus moved to Lewis County. Wiley was childless. While in Hickman County, WGW ran across his 1st cousin Tapley Rochelle who had moved independently to Hickman Co from Wake Co NC in the 1850s. Almost all Middle Tennessee Rochelles descend from Henderson, Tapley, or William. There is a distinct group of Rochelles in Limestone Co AL that this list has referred to from time to time, who trickled over the line into Giles Co TN and can occasionally be found in Lawrence Co TN in modern times. If you'd like a gedcom, I'll gladly send on one.
John B. Rochelle, descendant of Wiley George Washington Rochelle of lower Swan Creek, Hickman Co TN
