I long for information on Thomas Roby born about 1811, probably around Bolton, Lancashire, the son of Henry Roby born about 1781. I have no information on the mother of Thomas. Thomas married Alice Isherwood Marsden on Feb 19, 1844. They had one son born Jan 22, 1847, John. I have documents to prove all of the above but cannot locate any death cert on Thomas who probably died in 1848/49 after Alice died from Typhus and he took care of her. Their son John is my GGrandfather and I have all information on John. He was raised in the Henley/Pemberton Work House from 1851. Would like to verify his fathers death and who were his grandparents? I know one was Henry Roby from the marriage cert of Thomas and Alice. Anyone have any ideas or can help. This family stayed in the Bolton/Wigan area and John later lived at Blackrod before coming to the U.S.
