Sarah Ann Robey 1809 - 1848 md Bartemus Acton June 21, 1825 in Charles Co. MD. Their first 3 children were born there; the rest were born in Ohio Co. KY. Who were Sarah Ann's parents?
According to Sue G. Acton's research, Sarah Ann (Robey) Acton was the granddaughter of Thomas Robey of Charles Co. Maryland. She and her brother, William Thomas Robey, are named in the older Robey's will, dated June 26, 1824, probated Nov. 30, 1824. Sarah Ann Robey was bequeathed 105 acres in lieu of $350 owed her by her Grandfather. In a subsequent deed dated Nov. 8, 1830, and filed December 16, 1830, Sarah Ann Robey and her husband, Bartemus Acton, sold this 105 acres to Isaiah Robey, a first cousin to Sarah (Robey) Acton, for the amount of $350.00.
