A long search but I have finally found the father and Grand-father of John Roby born in 1847. Thomas Roby was the son of Thomas Roby who married Alice Isherwood Marsden in 1844. That marriage cert shows Thomas as the son of Henry Roby a weaver. The marriage was in the Parish Church of Bolton and they lived in Greater Bolton when they married. I am trying to find out what happened to Thomas Roby after his wife Alice died in 1848. Their son John Roby was in the Hindley-Pemberton work house in the 1851 census records. Hoping that someone who has a record of Henry with son Thomas may be able to give me some clues. Appreciate any help very much, Thanks, Lois
