I am searching for the birthplace, parents, siblings of Thomas ROBEY, who was b.18 Sep 1805 in KY[per census records].
Thomas ROBEY m.15 Mar 1827 Bourbon Co KY[proved] to Elizabeth W. THOMAS. The name Richard THOMAS is on the marriage record and his name appears on other couples' marriage records as well. (This man could have been the Rev. Richard THOMAS, who is not the father of Elizabeth W. THOMAS.)
This Thomas ROBEY may have resided with Hezekiah ROBY/ROBEY of Bourbon Co KY during the 1810 and/or 1820 census. This Thomas ROBEY is presumed not to be a child of Hezekiah ROBY, because he is not listed in the will[proved], but he does purchase many items from the estate sale ca.1831.
This Thomas ROBEY moved to Rush Co IN in the 1830's, then moved to Hamilton Co IN ca.1850. He d.12 Jan 1870 Clay Twp, Hamilton Co IN. His wife Elizabeth is known as "Cindy" in the 1880 IN census.
The following eleven children were born to them:
1) Mary Jane b.1828 KY
2) George Washington b.1830 KY
3) Sophia b.1833 KY
4) Thomas Leonard b.1834 IN
5) Elmira Ann b.1837 IN
6) Elizabeth C. b.1840 IN
7) Louisa E. b.1841 IN
8) Nancy Frances b.1844 IN
9) Marion Franklin b.1846 IN
10) Paulina C. b.1849 IN
11) Obadiah b.1851 IN
For the most part, this family remained in the Hamilton Co IN area:
--The widow of #2) Geo. W. ROBEY migrated w/grown children to KS then to OK.
--The son of #5) Elmira ROBEY SLUDER migrated to KS & OK.
--#8) Nancy Frances ROBEY DYE moved "away" and lived near the NEASE family.
