Johnson, Mary Robison "Nana" Mary Robison Johnson (Nana) SHREVEPORT, LA - Mary Robison Johnson, 88, resident of Shreveport, LA, passed away on September 11, 2009 in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born on January 6, 1921, in Athens, AL, the youngest of nine children to Erskin Coleman and Linnie Otto Robison. In all that she did and was, as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she exemplified the fruits of the Spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control. A true servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Nana's life was dedicated to serving others. As an employee of Citgo Oil and McCord Oil, a Sunday School teacher at the University Church of Christ, and a willing hostess for any occasion, she lived to serve and give. All who came in contact with Nana were enriched by her presence. Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her parents, Erskin Coleman and Linnie Otto Robison, husband of 65 years, Percy Ray Johnson, Jr.; sisters Lynn Vest, Ruth Halstead, Rachel Robison, and Sara Coker; and brothers, Fred Robison, Cecil Robison, Sam Robison, and Hub Robison. She is survived by daughter, Judy Johnson Kaufman and husband, William C. Kaufman, III of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren: William C. Kaufman, IV and wife, Stacey, Alexandria, VA; Kellie Belk and husband, Bob, Baton Rouge; Kristin Patton and husband, Brian, Baton Rouge; Courtney Haindel and husband, Ben, Covington; eight great-grandchildren: Caroline and William C. Kaufman, V; Clayton and Edward Daniel V; Courtland and Keller Patton; and Mary Evelyn and Molly Mae McPherson. She is also survived by sister-in-law Sue Anderson, Shreveport; brother-in-law, Leonard Johnson, Houston, TX; sister-and-brother-in-law, Bill and Evelyn Verduin, Richmond, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Brother Jerry Hodge, longtime pastor and dear friend will conduct services at University Church of Christ in Shreveport, Louisiana on Tuesday, September 15th with visitation from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and interment immediately following in Forest Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be son-in-law, Bill Kaufman; grandson, Camp Kaufman; great-grandson, Edward Daniel V; grand-sons-in-law, Bob Belk, Brian Patton, Ben Haindel; and nephews, Gary Burt and Doug Burt. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice In His Care (Baton Rouge, LA), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Baton Rouge, or University Church of Christ in Shreveport.
