Hi everyone!

Its not often that I post massive corrections like this, but Ive run across this more times than I care to count and feel something needs to be said.

I know a lot of people research their family histories as a hobby and I think it's great that that many people are interested. However, hobbyists need to pay attention to the facts as if they were professional genealogists when they take an active role of reposting their information on the internet.

Many Robinson descendants from Kentucky are seeing the following info:

David Robinson, b @ 1784 was the son of Samuel Robinson and Mary Price. Unfortunately, this information cannot be correct. If you pay attention to Mary's D.O.B., she was born @ 1781 and there is no way that a 4 year old had a child. Could it be that this is the correct woman and her birth date is simple messed up? Sure, that's possible, but in nearly every one of these situations where this info is being copied and reposted, Mary's mother is listed as being Priscilla Crabtree Price, who was born in 1766. The line back from Priscilla is logically dated, so the logical assumption is that Samuel (If he is indeed David's father... no one seems to have proof of this yet), was married before (if Samuel's D.O.B. is correct as being 1765).

Please take the time to correct this mistake if you have posted it somewhere. There are over 100 trees on Rootsweb right now that have this info.

Thanks!
