Hello, y-chromozone DNA measures father to son, mTDNA measure mother to daughter. However FamilyTreeDNA.com now has a measurement system which they say can measure the mTDNA through the male side, though it is not as accurate as through the mother's side.

For example I have taken the 67 marker y-DNA test, which reveals about six Robins/Robbins who are 100% connected, including Obedience Robins.
