Michel (Michael) Maxim Robillard, was born Nov. 19, 1819 and was a stonecutter in Dubuque and Farley Iowa. He died in Rock Island Illinois in 1867. His wife, Catherine Denis (pronounced Dennie), was born in 1820 and died at Farley in 1866. They are buried together in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Catherine's sister Mary, married Joseph Arcouet (Arquitt), stonecutter and also lived in Farley. She died there in 1890 and was 68. Her other sister Marguerite married Hilaire DeLisle and lived and died in Grand Rapids, Michigan where her niece Josephine Robillard look after her. Michel's parents were probably Jean Baptiste Robillard and Marie (La)Reine Brassard married 6 Oct 1806 in Lavaltrie, Quebec. My grandmother was named after her. I don't have a baptismal record for Michel Robillard nor a marriage certificate, but they were likely married in upstate New York where their first daughter was born in Syracuse.
