Searching for Samuel Robillard 1920
Posted by: Richard Brault Date: February 22, 2002 at 14:02:40
  of 508

My Great Grandfather was born Samuel Robillard. He was a tug boat operator on the St. Lawrence and lived in Sorel, PQ. My father told me that Samuel was raised by a family with the Brault name. He went by the name Samuel Brault or Samuel Robillard dit Brault. He had several children one of which is my grandfather J.A.D. Robillard dit Brault. He was a telegraph operator for the St. Lawrence Division of the Canadian National Railroad. He died in 1951 in Gorham, New Hampshire where he also had worked as the telegraph operator. My grandfather had to carry an afidavid showing his real name was Robillard even though he went by the name Brault. When my father was born he was baptized with the name Brault and the Robillard name was dropped. I can't find Samuel or his parents.
