Robichaud Researchers,
With sadness, the author of the book, the Genealogy of the Robichaud Family, Monsignor Donat Robichaud, passed away this past weekend, on 8 August 2009 in Bathurst, New Brunswick, aged 84 years and 10 months. He was the son of Alexandre Roibichaud and Elisabeth Boudreau. He was founding President of the Societe historique Nicolas-Denys, and author of the parish histories of Shippagan, Beresford and Paquetville in that vicinity as well as other numerous genealogies of smaller Acadian families from the northern peninsula of New Brunswick. Your family has lost a shining light with his passing. His works will undoubtedly remain a cornerstone of research for the continued genealogy of your family, and history for that region of New Brunswick. Sincere sympathy to you all, his extended family. Just wanted you to know of the passing of this empassioned historian and family genealogist.
