Taking the direct paternal route and trying to find out more info on my g-g-g-g-grandfather.
From one family of Robertsons of Edinburgh the paternal line goes to a James Robertson who appears in Jamaica 1814.
Birth date unknown, probably 1780s
Marriage date unknown, probably 1813
Death pre-1845
James Robertson has a son (Charles) with Helen Milton.
Helen Milton b. 27.12.1781 in Edinburgh, d. 23.01.1845 at 54, Bristo Street, Edinburgh. At this time James Robertson is deceased on Helen's death certificate.
Son Charles Robertson b. 05.01.1814 Kingston, Jamaica, m. Ann Skinner 07.07.1848 54, Bristo Street, Edinburgh (both parents James and Helen deceased at the time of their marriage), d. 02.04.1874 Edinburgh.
Anyone know of this James Robertson, birth, marriage and death dates, his info is presently unknown, but he's on plenty of other noteable certificates. Also, if anyone knows of him, whether they also know his previous family history, parents, grand-parents etc.
Our Robertsons have an easy to find line present in Edinburgh from now until the 1780s, possibly someone can provide a lead? Thank you.
