Does anyone have proof of the father of John Roberts who married Sarah Tomlinson?? John and Sarah lived very close to my ancestor, Gray Stock Roberts Sr.
I have seen info that John was of the Pierre Robert line of SC, but I haven't seen any proof of this. I'm wondering how he was connected to that line.
I'm still looking for the father of Green Roberts, born 1792 in Burke Co., GA. Some info says that John and his first unknown wife were living in Burke Co., GA about the time of Green's birth. Green was not raised by his parents,but was instead raised by a Skinner family, likely Jonas Skinner and who could possibly be related to Green's mother.
We know that Green was not an only child, he had siblings but we don't know who they are. I'm wondering about John's daughters, Betsey and Jane, who were born in Burke Co around the same time as Green.
We believe that Green's father was named John Roberts, but have been unable to find anything about him. John Roberts who married Sarah Tomlinson is the only one who fits. John living so close to Gray Stock Roberts Sr (Green's cousin) seems to connect him to Green's line.
I welcome any info on this John.
