Burrell H. ROBINSON (1822-1904) Talbot Co, GA > AL
Seeking to contact fellow descendants and researchers of Burrell H. ROBINSON (1822 GA-1904 AL), who married first 14 MAY 1844 in Talbot County, Georgia, to Ferlinia SIZEMORE (1828 prob. Gwinnett County, GA-ca. 1851 prob. Talbot County, GA).Burrell married second to Ferlinia’s widowed sister, Mrs. Gerina (SIZEMORE) MOORE (1823 Barnwell District, SC-1896 prob. Crenshaw County, AL).Burrell and Ferlinia appear on the 1850 census of Talbot County.Burrell and Gerina are enumerated on the 1860 census of Coffee County, Alabama, and they are found in Crenshaw County, Alabama, in 1870 and 1880.Burrell was still residing there as a widower in 1900.Gerina is buried there in Siloam Baptist Cemetery, but Burrell is buried in Chattahoochee County, Georgia.
Burrell H. ROBINSON is my ggg-grandfather.Records indicate he is probably kin in some way to Thomas W. ROBINSON / ROBBERSON / ROBERTSON (1818 GA-1879 AL); Lewellen M. ROBINSON (ca. 1820 GA-aft. 1880 FL?); and a John ROBINSON, perhaps as brothers.I am interested in exchanging information on these families.
I also hope to track down one or two direct-male descendants of Burrell H. ROBINSON who may be interested in particpating in the ROBINSON surname yDNA study project.Subjects must be on a direct father-to-son line and therefore bear the surname ROBINSON (any spelling). There is a cost for the yDNA analysis, conducted through FamilyTreeDNA, but I and other descendants may be willing to help cover some or all of the cost. The participant’s test results will be run through the FamilyTreeDNA database and the participant will be notified of any matches. With permission, the results will also be added to the ROBINSON surname project results page for comparison with other ROBINSON/ROBERTSON men who have already been tested and will be grouped with matching results, if any.A match indicates kinship, and variations caused by slight mutations over the generations can indicate the likely distance from the most recent common ancestor (degree of kinship) between two matching participants. The participant and identities of living relatives remain anonymous.
Current yDNA results for ROBINSON / ROBERTSON (etc.) men participating in the project may be viewed on the following page:http://www.familytreedna.com/public/robinsonhttp://www.familytreedna.com/public/robinson
