Robbins, CA Gold Rush, Parker French wagon train

Looking for information on the surname, Robbins. That is the name that is given in an old manuscript I have. But this may, in fact, have been a Mr. Franklin Robinson, who has separately been catalogued as participating in this particular historical episode. Whomever he was (and by whichever surname) I have a connection, and a scant bit of information on the man. He has been mentioned in my g-g-grandfather's journal, soon to be published, and he went west on the Parker H. French wagon train to the California Gold Rush (1850). What I have is some brief anecdotal information to share, and I would like to find out more about this man if he can be identified and anything more is known.
