John M. Robbins, 81, formerly of Kenosha and more recently of Bassett, Wis., died at Kenosha Memorial Hospital Sunday noon following a short illness.
Born in Litchfield, Ill., on Sept. 29, 1883, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Robbins, he spent his early life and received his education in that city.
Mr. Robbins later moved to Decatur, Ill., before coming to Kenosha in 1952.He lived here until 10 years ago, when he moved to Bassett, Wis. to make his home with his daughter, Mrs. George (Lorene) Pratt.
He married Miss Neva Parnell in 1906.She died in 1918.Mr. Robbins worked at American Motors while living here.
Survivors include three sons, twins Eldon and Seldon Robbins, both of Kenosha, and Maynard Robbins, Kenosha; two daughters, Mrs. George (Lorene) Pratt, Bassett, Wis., and Mrs. John (Abbie Belle) Huddleston, Springfield, Ill.; two brothers, Lew Robbins, Alton, Ill., and Lloyd Robbins, Decatur, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Flo Ellers, Decatur, Ill., Mrs. Bertha Cooper, Carlinville, Ill., and Myrtle, Ontario, Canada; 24 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.One daughter, Beulah Irene, also preceded him in death.
