YDNA tests of descendants would suggest that James Robb was related to a family of Robbs who farmed at Ballysallagh, near Bangor, Co Down, Ireland in the early 1700s (see the Robb DNA project website). Lineage 3 shows James Robb as the son of Daniel Robb (b ca 1700). Although this would not be inconsistent with the DNA evidence, I am aware of no firm proof that James was Danielís son. He could just as easily have been a nephew or even cousin.
