JOHN & ELIZABETH ROBB, PA TO IL
My ancestors are John and Elizabeth Robb, who were found in the 1850 & 1860 Federal Census Records in Tamaqua Borough in Schuylkill County PA.
Both John and Eliza had the same surname by birth, which was (of course), Robb. Later they all were found in McLean County, IL in the 1870 FC. One of their daughters married in Bloomington, and this was our ancestress.
Both were born in Britain, according to a family record John Robb was born in Scotland and Eliza was born in Ireland.
Their children were Margery, Mary, Anna, Kate, Elbira & Elizabeth. It is known that they arrived in Pennsylvania in the early 1840's and it is likely it was abord the Passenger Ship Abbittsford, which arrived in Philadelphia on May 24, 1843.
Anyone with interest or knowledge of this family please respond.
