I, too, found Vivian Lyon Moore's manuscript -- *after* having labored to put together the ancestry of actor Jason ROBARDS. <aargh!> Our results differ only slightly, but I have compiled census and marriage records to support the genealogy. ROBARDS, as you know, is an alternate spelling of ROBERTS, and the progenitor, George ROBERTS/ROBARDS (1794-1845), is ROBERTS in his census records:
1920: NY: Onondaca Co.: Camillus (p. 135).
1930: MI: Washtenaw Co.: Dexter (p. 162).
1940: MI: Hillsdale Co.: Litchfield Twp. (p. 37B).
George's son, James Nelson ROBARDS (1832-1912), is ROBARDS in 1850 and 1880, but ROBERTS in 1860 and 1870:

No sign of Frank's supposed second marriage to Helen FLAGG, so he either married her after 1930 or married and divorced her between the censuses. Anyone know?
Frank's son, Jason Nelson ROBARDS, Sr. (1892-1963), was a silent film star. He is ROBARDS in his one found census record. He married Hope Maxine GLANVILLE ca. 1915, from whom he divorced between 1922 and 1930.

Can't find Jason, but his ex-wife is in:
1930: CA: Los Angeles Co.: Los Angeles (p. 228B).
Jason Nelson Sr.'s son, Oscar-winning actor, Jason Nelson ROBARDS, Jr. (b. 26 Jul 1922, Chicago, Cook Co., IL; d. 26 Dec 2000, Bridgeport, Fairfield Co., CT), had four marriages:
1 - Eleanor PITTMAN (m. 1948; div. 1958); six children.
2 - Rachel TAYLOR (m. ca. 1959; div. 1961).
3 - Betty Joan PERSKE, a.k.a., Lauren BACALL (m. 1961; div. 1969); one son, actor Sam ROBARDS (b. 16 Dec 1961).
4 - Lois O'CONNER (m. aft. 1969; remained married).
I welcome any corrections or additions. I would especially like to find Jason ROBARDS Sr. and Jr. in the 1930 census.
