Hi,
great to meet some relatives of this long, lost family. My gggrandfather was William Roark or Rowark of Stokes County, N.c. he was the husband of sofia K.Starns. His daughter was Louisa Regana Roark. She was always called Regina. She and her husband, Pickney Powell lived in Charlotte, N.C. They were the parants of John Tate Powell and his wife Mary Clay. And they were the parants of my mother, Helon Powell Powell who owned the dance studio.

William is either the son of Elija Rowark or Timmothy Rowark or they may be Roarks. But I read something that William was supposted to have written that said that his father was Elijah Rowark. Please write to tell of our family connections and am very interested to hear about this family member, because no one speaks about him after 1860. It's the family mystery.
Best Regards,
pam
