The Will of Timothy reads: In the name of God Amen. I Timothy Roark of the County of Stokes and State of South Carolina being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God, do this the seventeenth day of November in the year of our loard one thousand eight hundred twenty eight make and publish this my last will and testament in regarding following, that is to say. I first give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Roark the house built for Jesse Roark with land thirty eight acres and improvements there unto during life time or widowhood. Then to William with the balance of the old tract also I give to my son Wm Roark the balance of the old tract (or trust?) except a small parcel sold to Abner(?) Jackson which he has in built...? Also my above named wife and son to have each a horse beast and two cows each household and kitchen furniture and farming utensils equal divided with these the above named Mary and Wm Roark also I will that Wm my son have my black smiths tools the balance of my lands and property to be sold and equally divided with my four children and I the said Timothy Roark do hereby appoint my worthy friends Mary and Wm Roark as my executors to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I set my hand and seal the day and years above written. Timothy Roark William Pearce, Senator Ruel Roark Note from Pam: The Will was proved in the March term of 1839. I hope that I have transcribed this Will as close as possible to the orig. I am using a hand written copy of the will that was done in about 1904. The Jesse that I have as his son was born in about 1825, so I agree with you that it was probably not "your" Jesse. It seems that the Roarks have used the same names over and over, there are many Williams, Timothys and Jesses. Notify Administrator about this message?
