The New Haven Leader, New Haven, MO, ran the whole book by Gert Goeble, originally published in 1877 and as translated by Anna Hesse, over the course of a year (weekly) from 1959-1960. I am fortunate to have almost the complete set of articles. I would love to see the New Haven Leader re-publish what it must have rights to. The book is a wonderful description of the first Germans in Missouri, which was Gert Goebel's intent.
