Hi all,
I am descended from John Plummer ROARK, a son of Samuel ROARK and Ann PLUMMER from Wexford, Ireland.
A brother of John's, Charles Matthew ROARK married Editha IRVINE, a daughter of Thomas IRVINE, in 1861.
It seems probable that Thomas Irvine ROARK is a son of the couple, but the first birth I have for them is Alicia Emma in 1865.
Does anyone have information on Thomas Irvine ROARK or his sons Charles Thomas Irvine ROARK, E C ROARK and Aidan ROARK ?
All were polo players, with Charles TI and Aidan playing in the USA.
Charles T I married three times, but only one child known, a son to his first wife Grace born about 1920. He died in California as a result of a polo accident.
Aidan had at least two wives, the best known being tennis star Helen Wills, and died at Santa Cruz in March 1984. He was apparently a movie producer as well as a polo player.
I would welcome contact with anyone related or with information on the family.
