Thank you--what an interesting link--I'll enjoy seeing what proofs are available for such a long lineage. Meanwhile, yes, Elizabeth R. Lumpkin Eubank married William S. Jeffries as her third husband. One source is a Bible record at the VA Historical Society, but I may have others in my notes. As I recall, the evidence that Thomas Jeffries married Susan Carlton comes at least partly from the death record of one of her sons--I think I may have circumstantial evidence as well. This Wm S. Jeffreis was the uncle of my Thomas H. Jeffries who is buried, with his second wife, at Olivet Baptish Church in King & Queen. His middle name may have been Hart, but that's more of a guess than anything else.

Regarding the Smiths--they connect with my Foster family, but I don't know whether they are in my direct line. A Thomas Foster married Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Ann Smith in 1743? and is mentioned in her mother's will in 1747.

In 1787 Ann Foster married Thomas Spencer at Christ Church--they were the grandparents of Gideon L. Spencer who married Lucy Jeffries. The Spencers had lived near the confluence of Dragon and Monack Swamp in King & Queen since the 17th century when the first Thomas Spencer patented land in that area.

Ann/Nancy was the daughter of Thomas Foster of Straton-Major Parish in King & Queen. The Foster line also goes back to a 17th century patent along Foster's Mill/aka Burnt Mill Creek in K&Q, and my Thomas appears to have been living in that area at the time of his death c 1817.
