Hello, Kathy:
Elizabeth Waring Wilson, descendent of John Roane, and I woiuld very much like to learn your source/background information/source etc. for the identify of the wife of John Jones Roane [d. 1869] We learned that her maiden surname, Attaula is of Arabic origin. Her given name suggests she was Christian rather than Muslim. Since JJR lived most of his adult life in DC as a Congressman then civil servant, it's possible he met her in the international community there. What information have you?
Will very much appreciate your follow-up. Thanks.
