John S. Roane, age 58, buried at Shockoe Hill Cemetery on 12 Oct 1871. Place of death: Marshall and 28th Sts., Richmond, VA. Cause of death: heart disease.
Unable to find obituary in either the 1871 or 1872 microfilm copies of the Richmond Enquirer. Several issues are missing from Oct 1872 including a possible issue from 12 October. John S. Roane may have been a partner in the 19th century men's clothing firm of "Shipley, Roane & Co" in Richmond, Baltimore, Petersburg.

Roane - Fell asleep in Jesus on the 14th day of December, 1892, at her residence, No. 120 west Clay street, Richmond, Va., Mrs. Harriet M. Roane, in the 76th year of her age.
