Hi Kay,

Does your line include a James or Christopher Roane? None of the Virginia Roanes claim them in their research, so who do they belong to? I just have a feeling that James, son of Archibald Gilbert Roane may be my link, however no one seems to have information about him. I'm afraid the records in Essex Co., VA may be burned or incomplete, but I'll try there. Thank you for giving me info on Sir Archibald Gilbert Roane and his children. At least I now know that there was another Roane in Great Britian besides Robert Roane, whose son Charles established a major line of Roanes in Virginia.
