I am very interested in obtaining any information on Sir Archibald Gilbert Roane's two sons who supposedly came to Virginia: William and James. I can trace two brothers, Christopher and James Roane back to the Revolutionary War, but have no clue as to who their father might be. James supposedly landed in Essex, VA in 1741. The time is almost perfect for the birth dates of Christopher and James Roane. Christopher fought in the VA Artillery at Yorktown during the Revolutionary War and died without a will in 1784. His brother, James, inherited his brother's estate, married Elizabeth Royall and had started his family around 1785. James died in 1826 at "The Forest", Charles City Co, VA.

Any information will be greatly appreciated!
