I'd like to quote from Richmond neews of bygone days (1823) Results of the elections from King William Co. were as follows; John Camm Pollard,Philip Aykett,John J. Roane (not a candidate) and William Hall. (The name of John J. Roane occurs several times at this period. One John J. Roane had been a delegate from King William in 1820-23, and is thought to be the same man listed as John Roane, member of the convention of 1820-30 and a delegate of 1825-26. The John Roane who was born at 'Uppewac'King William Cty, in 1766, and an elector of the Washington ticket, was a member of congress in 1800-15, in 1827-33 and in1835-37. He died in 1838.Elizabeth Waring Wilson
