Howard, Thank you for the reply. On the 1850 Census, Beverly Watkins is 62, b. VA, Catherine is 68, b. KY. The 1830 Census has a male 40-50, and a female 40-50. Beverly died in 1854, and Katy Watkins in 1853, burial in Lake Branch Cemetery, section 18, Breese twp. My cemetery information is from the Clinton County Historical Society.
Their marriage information is from Family History Library film #1689026. The page is titled Cahokia 6th October 1810 (no page number). The document is a list of marriage licenses issued, and just lists the date and the names, Beverly Watkins and Katherine Roach. Other licenses have, in parenthesis, "in presence of brother" or "by written certificate of parents", but nothing is noted on Beverly and Katy's.
From the letter that I have, written by Beverly to David and Samuel Watkins, I get the impression that they were closely tied to the family of John and Jane Roach Armstrong. Any help is greatly appreciated. Janice
