Hello Ian.Thanks very much for the info. The second Emily does sound like a good match (I have a birth date of "abt. 1863"). I wouldn't say the match is "proven", as our Emily was married in Ongar, Essex, which would make her a bit mobile compared to our other reltives, but I can try to some more research in the Latter Day Saints Family History Centre here in Ottawa to get confirmation.I only went there the first time tonight, and it's a very busy place. You have to book a microfilm reader about a week in advance.I'll give you what I have on my Emily Rixon, and I'll add your data as a provisional link. Here is what I have, just the descendant tree, not the feeder branches:

Notes for EMILY RIXON:
Apparently because the Huguenot religion stipulated that inheritnaces only went to surviving male members, Emily and the children were left more or less destitute, but they were taken care of by another member of the family. They apparently lived in a tithed cottage, and the same bush that was growing when they were living there is still growing.Mum says Auntie Florrie was so amazed to see it.

My original clue on the Horshail name was from my younger sister, who had visited the family haunts in England. She wrote:

Emily Rixon Horsnail - married farmhand (David???? Horsnail) who worked at Diggins Farm (just North of Fyfield). They lived at #2 in Farm Workers Cottage. Seven childred were born: Myrtle (our Nanny), Florrie, May, Dolly, John, Ernest and Sidney.
Emily was widowed young. Emily herself died March 21, 1924 at the age of 61. Emilys husband grew up not to far from the Farm Workers Cottage in a house called "The UnExpected".
Nanny walked 2 miles to the Old Schoolhouse to clean house for the school mistress before school.
Emily is supposed to be buried in St Edmunds Anglican Church in Abbess Roding, although we could not locate a headstone/marker to verify this.
Millicent Horsnail (a relative???) married William Rogers on October 15,1790, in Hatfield Broad Oaks.
House across from the Two Swans was lived in by Emilys spinster sister-in-law.
Fanny (nee Horsnail) and Jack lived at the Two Swans (pub). Fanny was Emilys sister-in-law. Jack would never take a drink in his own pub.
I hope you find all this useful, perhaps even leading to more confirmations.
John
