I too have the Rix name in my geneaology and was very excited about Brancaster Castle. When in England we went in search of it and nobody had every heard of it. Later we recieved an article from a dear friend titled "Fantasy Fortress" a link to look at is www.northcoastal.freeserve.co.uk about half way down on the left is Brancaster Castle about the glorious castle that never existed. Yes I too was disappointed that Guy S. Rix felt the need to lead us all astray in 1906 when he published his book "The History and Geneaology of the Rix Family of America"

If you have any other info, I would be interested.
