Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Hello Anne,
The simplest DNA test is the Y-chromosome test. This tests a small group of DNA which is passed on unchanged from father to son. You mentioned your maternal line...does this mean your mother was a Rives? If this is the case, you would need to test her brother or a son of her brother.

The Reeves DNA testing has been done thru FamilyTreeDNA of Houston. They have the largest database-by far. Just go to their website to get details on everything from price to more than you will ever want to know about DNA.

You are welcome to contact me direct at: pgwitt@hctc.net

Gerald
