I was researching other things, but I ran across your post and in reply to a list of soldiers serving under Captain Coleman was a William Gilcrees. This was a 1754 list that I was reading on. But Col. Eaton did have a Capt Coleman in his command at the time. Captain Richard Coleman to be exact. I've been comparing this list with a Granville County census list for the same year.It's hard to find two list that match up. I didn't have a Gilreath or a Gilcrees on my census, although it wasn't a full census. Lot of other names on the unit list came up on the census, might I say more times than not they didn't match up.
