In my records, I have the following for Robert Paisley Rives:
Born Dec. 24, 1895, Gordonville, Lowndes Co., AL
Died Nov. 30, 1953, Collirene, Lowndes Co., AL
Buried Collirene (Rives) Cem., Collirene, Lowndes Co., AL
Married Ethel Hardy (b. July 5, 1900, Old Town, Dallas Co., AL; d. June 2, 1980; dau. of Robert Boardman Hardy and Sally Jackson ) – Nov. 16 / Oct. 18, 1919
As a small child, I knew R. P. Rives' children Robert Jr. and Alvin Earle. As a teenager, I knew Robert Jr. and his wife Mary Elizabeth. My father was their pastor at Bethany Church at Collirene. There is a Homecoming service at Bethany every year, and I think there are several who would be overjoyed to see you there next year.
I would like to receive anything your are willing to share about Ethel Hardy Rives. I am trying to unknot the tangle of Hardys in the area of Old Town, Dallas County, AL, and I know nothing of Robert Boardman Hardy.
