I've checked various sources and I came to the conclusion that Theophile Poliquin is not the son of Joseph Poliquin and Genevieve Sauvé dit Laplante. It seems this couple did not have a child named Theophile.
The marriage date you have : 14 Nov 1876 in Montebello refers to the one of Joseph Poliquin and Caroline Elmire Lacombe. I found references to that couple in the area of Alfred Ont, but from what I gathered, I think we are in the presence of two different couples, as Theophile married to Delphine Rivard is not Joseph married to Elmire Lacombe.
