Joseph Rivart & Francoise Roi - 1795
The year 1795, the 18th of August after the publication of the 3 banns of the future marriage between Joseph Rivart, illegitimate son of Joseph Rivart and of Catherine of the Indian Nation Osage on the one hand, and Francoise Roi, daughter of majority age of Andre Roi and of Francoise Chappart. Without having found any obstacle or opposition and after the engagement celebrated the said day, I, the undersigned, Pierre Joseph Didier, Religious Benedictine priest, cure' of St. Louis, have received in this church the mutual consent of the parties and have given them the nuptial Benediction. Present and accepting the said Joseph Rivart and the said Francoise Roi and more, in the presence of Sirs Pierre Chalifour, Jean Baptiste Sinulet, Joseph Beauchemin, Basile Hobart, who have been warned of the punishment (pains) against them who certify in this case facts which are not true. (They) have certified to us about the above on the resident, quality and liberty of the said parties and have signed with us the day and year above.
