Betty Ritter

Betty Ritter, 84, of 434 Glen Ave., Ellwood City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening, June 3, 2008, at Silver Oaks Nursing Center in New Castle.
She was born on July 28, 1923, in New Jersey, to the late Harry Rutter and the late Mary Elizabeth Wiles Rutter.
Betty enjoyed keeping up with politics, cooking and baking for her family, and had a great love for all animals, especially her cat, Frankie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Ritter, who died Feb. 19, 1986. They were married on December 20, 1944.
She was also preceded by her son-in-law, Granville "Si" Lyons, in May 2008; grandson, George Ritter, in infancy; granddaughter, Amanda Ritter, in August 2004, and great-granddaughters, Emma Paige Ritter, in August 2004, and Sophie Grace Ritter, in September 2004.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law and five daughters: Carl "Chris" (and Tina) Ritter, Joseph E. (and Tammy) Ritter, Wilma Ann Lyons, Linda L. Ritter, Kathryn M. Biego, Elizabeth H. Ritter, all of Ellwood City, and Henrietta A. Ritter, Beaver. She is also survived by a brother, Louis Smith, Zanesville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received today, June 5, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, Ellwood City, www.turnerfh.com. Services will be conducted on Friday, June 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. at TURNER'S with Pastor Joe Lahr, of the Cornerstone Community Church of New Castle, officiating.
Interment will follow in Lillyville Church of God Cemetery, Franklin Township.
Memorial contributions may be made to any Humane Society.
